Maggie's garden visit and potato competition were a great success yesterday. A large number of AIKB members had come to see the garden and several of them had taken part in the potato competition, which was about the heaviest yield from growing one potato in a bag.
Congratulations to Kate who got the 1st prize with her potato (1 kg). She won a bottle Breton cider and a cider cup.
2nd prize to Dale (330 g), who won a potato jigsaw (i.e. a packet crisps!) and 3rd prize to Pete (100 g) who got the wooden spoon!
All in all, a lovely, sunny afternoon with delicious cakes. Huge thanks to Maggie for opening her garden and organizing this potato competition.
